“Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.”
EDGAR DEGAS

The art of The Capston
“I have been enjoying and collecting art for the greater part of my life. Over time it proved to be a great source of inspiration and understanding. I have always wanted the residents at Ballymore Developments to be in a position to readily experience the same benefits.
Now, at The Capston, in our determination to make your living spaces both enviable and truly remarkable – we have taken it one step further by placing today’s leading artists, artisans and designers unreservedly at the forefront and centre stage.”
SEAN MULRYAN
Chairman & Chief Executive

when we bring art into the everyday – into our intimate personal environments – what affect do these objects have on us and how can they add a deeper sense of belonging to both place and others?

the craft of
the capston
We view the act of building not simply as construction, but as composition — the layering of minds, makers and materials into something uplifting and expressive. From its outset, The Capston has been shaped by a singular vision: to create a living environment where architecture and art are one and the same.
To realise this vision, Ballymore have drawn together a collective of extraordinary craftspeople, whose work forms the hallmark of outstanding quality throughout the project. From the architectural language defined by HAL Architects to the contemporary, Art Deco world imagined by Bryan O’Sullivan, every detail has been curated rather than merely specified — each decision a reflection of taste and refinement.

This spirit of collaboration extends to the tactile and the elemental:
the hand-worked metals shaped by NorthBrass, the luminous
stained glass of Stuart Suckling, and the richly glazed ceramics of
Fabienne L’Hostis. These are not just materials; they are expressions
of process and narrative, which sit perfectly with the art and sculpture
curated by Ballymore, integral to the identity of The Capston.
In this section, we honour the makers — the artisans, designers,
and specialists — whose individual mastery has helped us to
compose something greater than the sum of its parts: a home
that feels considered, characterful, and truly exceptional.
